Chinese Editor Suspended for Article on North Korea

April 12, 2013 by admin

Deng Yuwen, A well-known editor and Communist Party member, was recently suspended from his position as Deputy Editor of the Study Times, an influential government publication, for writing an editorial critical of the Chinese government’s support for North Korea.

Although some China observers viewed the article as an indication that China might soon modify its support for the Hermit Kingdom, Deng’s suspension suggests that the government has no intention of curtailing support for North Korea.
The New York Times has more.
