Cisco & Human Rights Violations in China

Harry Wu, Executive Director of the Laogai Research Foundation, will speak June 7, at 9:30 A.M. in the Murrow/White/Lisagor room at the National Press Club. Mr. Wu will address Cisco Systems, Inc.'s aiding and abetting in human rights violations in the People's Republic of China, and Cisco's complicity in the monitoring, tracking, harassment, and detention of Chinese dissidents, such as Nobel Laureate Liu Xiaobo. Finally, Mr. Wu will address what is being done in the United States to combat Cisco's efforts -- from the Court House to Capitol Hill.

The Laogai Research Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded by former political prisoner Harry Wu in 1992. Its mission is to gather information on and raise public awareness of the Laogai-China's extensive system of forced labor prison camps.
