Newly Renovated Laogai Museum Will Open to the Public April 7th, 2011!
Dear Supporters:

It is with great pleasure that the Laogai Research Foundation announces the grand opening of our newly remodeled Laogai Museum:

Thursday, April 7th, 2011
6:00 pm
At our NEW LOCATION: 1734 20th St. NW, Washington D.C. 2009

In our new, professionally designed space in Washington, D.C., we will have even more Laogai Archives artifacts on display, weaving together piece by piece the full story behind China's system of repressive forced labor camps.

First established in 2008, the Laogai Museum serves to honor the memory of Laogai victims and raise awareness about China's human rights abuses. Now, to further our mission, the Laogai Research Foundation has collaborated with exceptional design and construction teams to develop this interactive museum, which we hope will become a venue for education, dialogue, and advocacy. We welcome you to come visit us in Washington, D.C. to experience this one-of-a-kind exhibition. For updates on the museum's progress and upcoming events, please check out our museum blog at laogaimuseum.org.

For more information, please contact us at Laogai@laogai.org or (202) 408-8300 x 300.

We hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Harry Wu & Laogai Research Foundation

The Laogai Research Foundation was established in 1992 by Laogai survivor Harry Wu in order to gather information on and raise public awareness of the Laogai- China's extensive system of forced-labor prison camps. LRF also works to document and publicize other systemic human rights violations in China, as well as to encourage advocacy for human rights in China.
